Moving day part 1

Today is moving day part 1.

Our apartment is being packed up and everything is being moved to storage till next Friday when they move us into your new place in the big city! We were hoping it could all be done in one day, but that was clearly just wishful thinking. Luckily, Chris is able to be there today and I will be off work Friday when they move it all in.
Moving Chaos

We tucked away enough stuff to be able to get by at the new place while we wait.  We were even able to fit our guest mattress in the back of the new car!

I know... a new car and new apartment all in the same week just screams grown-ups. Unfortunately, with as much as we have to do this weekend- I'm putting it all on hold to watch college football. HOTTY TODDY!!

Oktoberfest in September

Sunday Chris and I headed up to Fremont for Oktoberfest with our friends Claire, Kevin and Adam! Leave it to Fremont to host an Oktoberfest mid-September...

We tasted delicious beers from all over the PNW, listened to good music, and even saw a drunk girl drop her corn on the cob on the ground then continue to eat it... great times.

Once the festival started winding down we headed to Revel for dinner.Nothing goes better with beer than Korean comfort food. I'm not sure it qualifies as my type of comfort food but it was absolutely delicious!

New Chapter

The chapter of our life in the military is over! Now instead of being an army wife, I'm the wife of the newest Boston Scientific Endoscopy team member. After months of interviewing, Chris has landed a new job, and its exactly what he was hoping he would be doing!!

He went to meet dinner last night with the regional manager and sales reps, I kept waiting by my phone to get the call he got the job offer so I could go grab champagne to celebrate. All the sudden Chris came barging through the front door popping open a bottle he stopped to get :) The guys also sent him home with a dessert for me... chocolate molten cake.... delish.

We are so excited for this new chapter is our lives, and even more excited that it keeps us in the PNW. We are currently looking for places to live up in Seattle. I still plan on commuting to my job in Tacoma since I'll be going the opposite direction of the traffic!

CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS!! I am so proud of you my love :)

Cheers

Life updates

Life has been so busy lately that I haven't had a chance to really update everyone with what has been going on with us.

  • I started working full time at ServiceMaster of Tacoma in July. I really enjoy the work I'm doing here and my co-workers are amazing.
  • Chris will officially be out of the army on Oct. 1st. He's been interviewing non stop and hopefully I will be posting what our next step will be VERY soon :)
  • I've actually been keeping up with Pure Barre! for the past few weeks I've done it 4 times a week and I'm starting to see the results! I also just ordered  the Perishing Square 1 podcast. I'm a little worried how I'll do with no visual cues... I'll be sure to let you know!
I saved the best for last....

Day 1 of Blogtember

SOML is hosting another blog challenge! Here goes nothing...

Tuesday, Sept. 3: Describe where or what you come from. The people, the places, and/or the factors that make up who you are.

I'm going to keep this as short and sweet as I can:

PEOPLE:
Born June 26th 1986 to Jim and Sharon Wassell- throughout my 27 years they have been a shining example of how I want to live my life and raise my children one day. I owe much of who I am today to them. They have always given me their constant love and support and for that I could not be more thankful.

I have a younger sister, Katie, who has always been my side kick and best friend. She is definitely the funniest person I know.

I met my husband Chris in November of 2008 and we were married on May 28, 2011. He is the most amazing husband and has never failed to be by my side. Everyday he makes me happier than I ever thought possible.

My in-laws are just as amazing as my husband. They have taken me in like one of their own and I feel so blessed to share their last name.

My friends, whether from high school, college, or life in the army, have filled my years with so much laughter and many unforgettable memories.

PLACES:
Born in Sacramento,CA. and have lived (in order) in Memphis, Iowa, Memphis, Oxford, Memphis, El Paso, Columbus GA, and now Tacoma, WA.

Growing up my parents helped me and my sister see the world! As a family we made our way through Europe, Mexico, and the Caribbean, each time making memories that will never leave us.

Being able to experience so many different cultures and see so much history really opens ones mind. Luckily, Chris is just as enthusiastic about seeing the world as my parents are :)

I try to always smile, be kind, and work hard :)

xoxo.
