Ready to shred

This weekend we only had one thing on our TO-DO list... attend the ski fever and snowboard show at the Washington Convention Center in downtown Seattle. There are 3-4 ski resorts within an hour or two of us, so we plan on making plenty of trips this winter.

We prepped for the big outing with some blood orange mimosas and breakfast tacos at Barrio.

The expo was full of vendors, and we entered every drawing possible. By the time we left I was all stocked up to hit the slopes!
new board, binding, boots, and helmet

Cant wait to test it all out. :)

Exploring with Caleb & Denise

Wednesday afternoon Caleb and Denise got in town for a long weekend! Once we got some lunch at the apartment we headed to Point Defiance Park. We hung out by the water and got some great views of the changing leaves

Once Chris got home, we headed to downtown Seattle to catch a Sounders game. I had no idea intense major league soccer games could be. We we in the "rowdy section" where the fan all chant/sing. Luckily Denise and I were able to get our hand on a song card so we could sing along.

Unfortunately the game ended with a 0-0 score. In non play-off situations, they do not do penalty kick or overtime.

Thursday, there was only one must do on the list. Head to Fremont and get a delicious sandwich from Paseo. It has honestly the most delicious sandwich I have ever had!!

Afterwards, we explored Fremont and found this troll hiding under a bridge...

Not sure how this came about, but it's pretty creepy. We then headed to Gas Works Park where we were able to get some amazing pictures of the city.

Our final stop of the day was the Hiram M. Chitteneden Locks and botanical garden. The locks connect  Lake Washington to the Puget sound. We were able to see a few boats cross. Its also known for its salmon runs.

Friday we decided to hang around Tacoma. We started by hitting up some local antique shops close by.
still trying to convince chris we need this for our entry way.

Once we were antiqued out, we hit the Museum of Glass.

We topped off the night with some chowder and fish tacos at Dukes!

Saturday, We headed out to Bainbridge Island. We strolled through town, hitting up some shops and wineries along the way!

From Bainbridge, we took the short ferry ride into Seattle.

After a late night dinner at Umi Sake House, it was time to head back to Tacoma.

It was such a fun weekend! Cant wait for them to come back, there is definitely much more to explore!
