Crabbing

Once again we had an eventful weekend!

Friday night we had our first co-ed softball game. We lost... terribly, but in our defense we played the defending rec league champs and they were way too into then we were. I don't think they were hiding beet in Gatorade bottles like we were. oh well- we'll get em next time!

Saturday we headed to Westport to catch some dinner. We caught 5 crabs before turning in... well we caught a lot more but they were too small too keep.

Chester was having a blast

Walk Tacoma

Wednesday evening Ashey, Kelli, and I went on a public art walking tour through the museum district of Tacoma. It was about a mile and a half walk and along the way we learned a lot about the art pieces we see on a daily basis. Lots of interesting facts, but i have to admit- I'm more pumped for the brewery walking tour in a few weeks :)

learning all about the meaning of this piece- symbolizes the broken railway that was once there

Chihuly glass

from different angles the op of this building says different things, we saw gather and idea from different point on the walk but there is also said to be a secret word in here that can only be seen from one spot!

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend :)

Weekend wrap up

Friday night we kicked off the weekend with Margaritas at the matador.

Saturday- we headed out to watch the Army/Navy lacrosse game before heading into Seattle to catch the mariners game. There was a big group of us going, and even though the weather was the best and the Mariners lost, we had a great time.

Sunday- we did nothing... if tom hadn't cooked a delicious dinner I don't think we would have made it off the couch :)

Chris's Portland B-day

Last weekend we headed to Portland for Chris's birthday! We had heard really good things about the city, so we were excited to see what all it had to offer. The food we found to be AMAZING and the people as strange as ever... people seem to try very hard to be that unusual. but all in all it was a very successful trip

Chester was happy he got to come along

Friday night we went to Le Pigeon for dinner. On Tuesday when I went to make the reservation, the only time they had left was at 9:45. I am so glad we waited because it was by far the most amazing meal we have had in a long time.

Before heading out to dinner at Le Pigeon
The restaurant consists of only 3 communal tables that all viewed the open kitchen.

We opted for the Chef's 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings and it did not disappoint. 1st course- mussels vinaigrette with horseradish panna cotta, green strawberries, and chilies. 2nd course- chicken "gnocchi" in a morel cream sauce with asparagus and licorice vinaigrette 3rd course- Sea bass over pesto noodles 4th course- Skirt steak with crab and potato gratin with a goat cheese shrimp butter vinaigrette 5th course- Foie Gras Profiteroles in a carmel sauce with sea salt
If anyone is ever in Portland, i strongly recommend making a reservation and checking this place out!

Saturday sunrise
Before heading to the Mt. Hood, we had to hit up VooDoo Doughnuts

They were all so delicious!
We spent the day boarding at Meadows at Mt. Hood. I really liked the runs on this mountain, I just wish the weather had been a little better- we had to deal with some strong winds and ice!
When we got back we relaxed while watching the final 4 games
Chris and Chester talking about what all was going on outside
Saturday night we headed to Bamboo Sushi for dinner then out for a few drinks before cabbing it back!

It was such a fun weekend and I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband!

weekend wrap up

Chris and I had a pretty productive weekend!

We started our weekend by taking chester on a run through the park. After 2 laps hes worn out, but always seems to find some hidden energy once Chris starts throwing sticks and pine cones for him. Afterwards, we enjoyed a happy hour drink on the deck before heading to Pacific Grill for dinner.

Saturday, we headed into Seattle to check out the Experience Music Project Museum. Their current exhibit includes memorabilia from Nirvana and Jimmy Hendrix as well as a collection of famous leather jackets. It was pretty neat to see, although it didn't take us to long to make it through the whole museum

gorgeous day

guitar Jimmy Hendrix used at WoodStock

Michael Jackson's leather jacket

Afterwards, we headed to Snoqualmie Falls. Its a 374 ft waterfall not to far from us! So gorgeous.

Easter Sunday was wonderful! Spring has definitely sprung in the Pacific Northwest!

even chester was enjoying time on the patio
Hope everyone has a wonderful week.
