Best burger in Seattle

Its no big secret that in'n'out is my favorite burger, but with the nearest one over 8 hours away, I'm lucky that my 2nd favorite burger is right here in Seattle! Monday wasn't my first time to eat at Dick's drive in. When I was younger, my family missed our connecting flight out of Seattle on our way home from an Alaskan cruise. With a 6 hour layover ahead of us, my dad rented a limo and took us to Dick's for lunch! I had been looking forward to going back ever since. Its a great drive in where they keep the menu simple: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, and shakes!  Its consistently voted as one of the top 25 restaurants in Seattle, and for good reason. If you're ever in Seattle, its a must.

Leavenworth

Saturday might not have gone exactly like we planned, but it was still perfect. We had planned on starting the day off with some snowboarding at Steven Pass before venturing into the Bavarian town of Leavenworth, however, we arrived a bit later than expected. The line to get a lift ticket was about an hour wait. I had never seen a ski resort so packed!

Since we had planned to leave early to catch the christmas lighting in Leavenworth, we figured by the time we got to the top of the mountain we would probably only be able to get 2 runs in so we decided to spend the day exploring Leavenworth.

Leavenworth is a quaint Bavarian village near Wenachee, WA. We first heard about the Christmas lighting after our friends Mark and Lauren visited the village during Oktoberfest. All the locals there strongly encouraged them to come back during the holidays!

With the snow falling all day long, it really was like we were back in Europe.

Love.

The things I am starting to love the most about living here, is how there are so many things to do/see just a short distance away. This quaint village is about 2.5-3 hours from Tacoma. Within a few hours we can be in Oregon or Canada, in the mountain or at the beach, in the heart of the city or in a quaint little village. We are excited to continue to explore and make the most out of our time here!

Love yall. xo.

It's almost like we are back in Germany

Last year, Chris and I were lucky enough to spend New Years Eve in Germany with the Stramara's and Dr. Tom. While walking around the streets of Heidelberg, I had my first taste of Gluhwein. Gluhwein is a spiced, mulled red wine that you drink hot. It definitely helped to warm me up as we walked around the town.

It was also a staple for when NYE, as we watched/lit fireworks from a nearby castle.

We fell in love with so many different types of food/drinks while over there, and everytime we try to find something comparable here, it never quite hits the mark. Well, imagine my excitement when walking through my local grocery store I found a bottle of Gluhwein!!! Last night, Chris, Dr. Tom, and I heated up a bottle, and it was just like we were back walking the cold cobble stone streets in Germany.

If you happen to see a bottle in your grocery/liquor store, I strongly suggest giving it a try!!! Simply heat it up on your stovetop and enjoy.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Love yall.

Indulge

They always say it's the little things that count, well today that meant dessert before dinner! My sweet tooth was out of control that I just couldn't resist! I knew living caddy corner from a frozen yogurt shop would be tough. Lets hope I don't make this a habit, but it sure was delicious.

1st shred of the season

We decided to celebrate thanksgiving on Wednesday and spend Thursday on the slopes. With so many slopes close by, we decided on Crystal Mountain, just a short hour and a half drive. Chris and Tom were pros getting down the mountain, and while I managed to stay in one piece, a few more lessons are still in order for me!
Hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving feast

This was my first year cooking thanksgiving dinner! I was so thankful everything turned out edible and pretty delicious. Instead of a turkey, we had a turducken... Yes a turkey stuffed with chicken, stuffed with duck... And it was amazing! Since we weren't able to spend the holiday with family, we had a few friends over to share the feast with
